Holy Week and Easter 2019

We publish HERE details of times of services for the celebration of Holy Week and Easter. It is very encouraging to note, the full Sacred Triduum will be celebrated in nine different dioceses around the country.

Please note, the LMS Office will close at 12 noon on Maundy Thursday and reopen on Easter Tuesday.

Pilgrimage to Lourdes

Pilgrimage of the Institute of Christ the King to Lourdes led by His Eminence, Raymond Leo Cardinal Burke. Monday 29th April to Thursday 2nd May 2019

£450 per person, this price includes:

Pilgrimage to Chartres LMS Bursaries

This year marks the 37th Chartres Pilgrimage – a walk of 70 miles in three days from Notre Dame Cathedral, Paris, to Notre Dame Cathedral, Chartres – with the theme: “The Peace of Christ through the Reign of Christ”.

The British contingent of the Pilgrimage gather on Friday 7th June for Mass in Westminster Cathedral crypt at 7.00am and then board a coach for Calais at 7.30am.  Each day throughout the Pilgrimage the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered and the Holy Rosary will be prayed.  Confession and spiritual guidance will both be available throughout each day.

Pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation, West Grinstead

Fr Sean Finnegan, of the Sacred Heart parish in Caterham, has kindly offered to organise a pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation in West Grinstead, on Wednesday, May 15th, 2019.  
Below is a suggested schedule for the day which will be confirmed closer to the time:

10.30  - Arrival, teas/coffees etc.
11.00 -  Joyful mysteries of the Rosary
11.30 - Talk on West Grinstead by Father Sean Finnegan

12.00 - Holy Mass -TLM - hopefully a High Sung Mass.  We will bring our own servers.

Dowry Tour to come to London

During the course of 2018 to 2020 the statue of Our Lady from the Slipper Chapel at the Catholic National Shrine in Walsingham will be taken to each Cathedral in England for a three-day triduum of prayer, as part of the preparation for the re-dedication of England as the Dowry of Mary in 2020.

Sung Mass in honour of St Chad

The Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest will celebrate a Sung Mass in honour of St Chad at St Winefride's, Shrewsbury on Saturday 2nd March at 11.30am. The Sister Adorers will sing, including a Te Deum at the end of Mass. Refreshments will be then served in the presbytery, to which all are invited.

Residential Latin Course 2019

Bookings are now being accepted for our Residential Latin Course, to be held in The Carmelite Retreat Centre, Boars Hill, Oxfordshire from Monday, 29th July to Friday 2nd August 2019.

The course is intensive, over five days. The Latinists will be able to attend Mass in the Extraordinary Form, either Low or Sung, each day. The Latin Mass Society’s Latin coursebook, Simplicissimus, is used as an aid in the course, and all participants are given a copy.
