Spring Iota Unum talks confirmed

We are pleased to share three confirmed talks for the Spring term of Iota Unum.

February 28th – Nina Power, writer and philosopher, will give a talk on 'Overcoming Modernity's Process of Deracination'.
March 21st – Dr Daniel Dolley, a poet and founder of a literary magazine Jericho Wawa, will speak on ‘Why is God the Father: Man and Woman in the language of Divine Revelation’.
Friday 25th - Niall Gooch, journalist at the Spectator, Catholic Herald and UnHerd. Title tbc.

LMS celebrates the diverse heritage of the traditional movement

The Latin Mass Society is a member of Una Voce, a worldwide confederation of national and regional organisations dedicated to the traditional Latin Mass. Throughout the Holy Year 2025 the society is holding a series of special Sung Masses in association with other Una Voce groups.

The first of these was held on Monday 20 January in association with Una Voce Nigeria. Members of the Nigerian diaspora attended a Sung Mass of Bl Michael Tansi, a twentieth century Igbo Nigerian priest, who was beatified by St John Paul II in 1998.

Hundreds of intentions prayed for during November

During the month of November, weekly Masses were celebrated for the intentions of Latin Mass Society members and benefactors. Members and benefactors were invited to send us the names of deceased persons they wished to have prayed for; hundreds of people were prayed for at these Masses.

LMS Shop restocks with Christmas items

The Latin Mass Society's Shop has been stocked with a range of items suitable for the celebration of Advent and Christmas. We offer a selection of devotional books to take you through the season of Advent, and books that tell the great story of Christmas. We also offer an attractive range of Christmas cards, a calendar for 2025, and an updated Ordo for 2025. We encourage you to place orders as soon as possible to ensure delivery by Christmas. The office will be closed between Christmas and New Year.

November Masses - leave your Mass intentions here

A Requiem Mass will be offered each week throughout November 2024 for the intentions of Latin Mass Society members and benefactors. The first of these will be the LMS Annual High Requiem Mass, which this year will be held at the Birmingham Oratory on All Souls' Day, Saturday 2 November, at 11.00 am. The other Masses will be offered as private celebrations each week throughout the month. Members and benefactors can leave the names of deceased persons they wish to pray for here.

LMS patron launches public petition in support of the Latin Mass

LMS patron James MacMillan has started a change.org petition to "Stop the ban on the Traditional Latin Mass". This petition follows his letter to The Times on July 3rd, which included Catholic and non-Catholic signatories, stressing the importance of the Old Rite and imploring Rome not to introduce further restrictions on the Mass.
