Latin Mass Society

LMS Annual Events

Look out for our forthcoming events in our Events calendar. Over the year we organise the following regular events:

Training

The Latin Mass Society organises a week-long Residential Latin Course; rolling on-line Courses are also supported by the LMS. We give 80% discounts on the fees to clergy and seminarians from England and Wales: See our Learn Latin page.

All are welcome to join the Vestment Mending Days of the Guild of St Clare in London, and the events of the Guild’s local chapters all over the country. The Guild also organises an annual training event at the Royal School of Needlework at Hampton Court Palace, and sponsors students through the RSN’s Certificate Course in Hand Embroidery. See the Guild website.

Server training days in London and occasionally elsewhere is organised by our servers’ guild, the Society of St Tarcisius.

Training in Gregorian Chant can be gained practically through the Houghton Schola in London; training for choirs around the country can be organised through the Gregorian Chant Network.

We also support sacred polyphony, and have a dedicated polyphonic consort, the Southwell Consort, based in London.

Pilgrimages

From the spring to the autumn the Latin Mass Society organises pilgrimages to shrines and places of historic interest:

Holywell in Wales; Oxford, in honour of St Winefride (in association with the FSSP), usually in July (Church of St Winefride)

Preston, in honour of the English Martyrs (in association with the ICKSP)

The Shrine Our Lady of Guadalupe in Bedford, Mass of reparation for abortion (Church of the Holy Child and St Joseph), usually in October or November.

Chideock in Devon, in honour of the Chideock Martyrs (in association with the ICKSP) (Church of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs & St Ignatius)

St Augustine’s Marsh Church at Snave, Kent, usually in September

York, in honour of St Margaret Clitherow (in association with the York Oratory), usually in August.

LMS Walking Pilgrimage to Walsingham, starting at Ely with more than 200 people. This takes place from Thursday preceding the August Bank Holiday.

We also support pilgrims attending the annual Chartres Pilgrimage in France, organised by Chartres UK.

Regular Masses and Masses for all kinds of special occasions too numerous to mention are supported by the Society and its network of Local Representatives, including celebrations of the Sacred Triduum at Easter.
