Great news from Glastonbury
Thanks to Fr Bede Rowe, the parish priest of Our Lady of Glastonbury, there will more Traditional Masses celebrated than hitherto.
There has been a regular Sunday Mass at 6pm (which will continue) but, with immediate effect, a Low Mass will also be offered at 7.30am each weekday apart from Thursdays. However, in case of cancellations, it is advisable to check glastonburyshrine.co.uk before travelling.
The Catholic Church of Our Lady of Glastonbury, Magdalene Street was built, on land near to the Abbey, in 1939. A statue based on a 14th-century metal seal was blessed in 1955 and crowned in 1965 restoring the Marian shrine that had been in the Abbey prior to the reformation.
The LMS organises an annual pilgrimage to Glastonbury, which this year will be on Saturday, 8th September (the Nativity of the BVM) with High Mass at 11.30am. Further details will appear on our website. The picture (by Joseph Shaw) was taken during our pilgrimage in 2017.
